I'm trying this tool for the first time and have a few questions.I imported a basic PowerPoint file (about 60 slides) into Udutu and wonder if there is a resolution for any of the following:

1.) Slide titles lost on import - Each slide had an individual title captured in a Title field, and upon import, all 60 or so slides took the title of the first slide, so I have to retype each slide title.

2.) Moving text boxes - in some cases text boxes were misaligned or shifted upon import, and when I clicked the edit button and wanted to re-align the text box, I couldn't see the change I made while I was making the change. I had to go out to preview to see it, then go back into edit text to adjust.

3.) Organizing lessons into groups - I created 6 new groups, one for each lesson of the course. Is there a faster way to move screens into groups, or do you have to drag and drop each one individually?

My experiences have echoed yours for the most part;  my Powerpoint slide titles did post, however.

Editing text boxes does seem dicey as the screen jumps when you begin to reposition your text box so yo're left guessing and flipping back and for the between edit and preview to see if you got it right.

I had to click and drag each slide into the newly contsructed group slide.  I was unable to encompass a group of slides with a shift or control click and then move them to their groups.

I'm having similar issues with the alignment of the text boxes when importing the slides.  Some are overlapping or are not formatted how I had them in PPT originally.  Also, some of the pictures are not being imported with the slide.

We are revamping the PowerPoint import functionality as I write this response.  At the end of August, expect a substantially different and improved PowerPoint import utilizing a completely rewritten process. 

Has this revamp been done?  It seems to me that what the users above are reporting is similar to what I am noticing.  Thanks.

It is well underway.  Hopefully we'll have it ready by late November.

adding Open Office (.odt) support would be nice too...
